Empowerment Zone / Renewal Community
In late 1994, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the US Department of Agriculture designated 105 distressed communities across the Nation as Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities (EZs and ECs). Since then, additional rounds of designations have expanded the number of Empowerment Zones and rural Renewal Communities (RCs). Today there are approximately 300,000 businesses located in RC/EZ areas. The EZ credit does not discriminate based on a company size. Any company that is located within the EZ can qualify. A company with 100 employees typically has a potential credit of $200,000-to-$300,000 per year.
As a natural complement to our other Tax Services, the EZ/RC Tax Credit Service accurately manages the calculations and generates the appropriate documentation to support the EZ credit. To find out if your business can benefit from Empowerment Zone or Renewal Community Tax Credits, click here. |
